All Will Be Fed
There’s a powerful allegory about the difference between heaven and hell with both a Zen Buddhist and a Jewish attribution, but the message is the same. In Hell, everyone is seated around a large table and given a very long spoon to eat with. The diners are miserable and starving in plain sight of their meals because no one can bring the food to their mouths with the utensil they have. In Heaven, everyone is seated at the table with the same type of long spoon, happy and well-fed. Why? Because they’ve learned that all can eat if everyone is willing to feed the person across the table from them.
