Details On Art Tote Collection

I’m excited to share the details on my limited collection of hand-sewn Kawandi-style tote bags. Made lovingly, stitch by sometimes wonky stitch, their perfectly imperfect nature reminds us that beauty doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful.

These soft and roomy bags, created from recycled cotton and linen, are embellished with handmade cloth beads strung on old sari silk, lined with a complimentary colored fabric, and a slight gusset at the bottom that offers a little extra breathing space for whatever you’re carrying. A unique piece of textile art, they’re also sturdy and practical. Depending on the size, they’re just right for holding goodies from the library or farmer’s market; keeping your own stitching project close at hand; and (my favorite) taking on the role of perfect all-purpose companion, happy to hold all the life stuff you need while sitting in a waiting room for what seems like forever.
