Celebration

It’s so interesting how a piece can grow on you if you give it time and an open heart. Mixing red, white, yellow, and black together has always felt kind of jarring to me, but then this little sugar pie came into being and I can not stop smiling.  

Bursting with pattern, color and wonky stitches, I picture a county fair, corn on the cob, and people sitting around a picnic table sharing love, laughter, food, and stories. She’s got this joyful celebration vibe going on, so that’s what I’m going to call her. What do you think?
