In the spirit of the season, I wanted to reshare a vivid childhood memory I recorded for The Listen Project, our local library’s digital life story collection. Advice From My Mom

My 69th birthday is Sunday, May 8th. It’s also Mother’s Day, and I am missing the hell out of my mom. She was one smart cookie who taught me some great lessons about living well. NOTE: The image here is a detail from her painting named “Poppies.”

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

I don’t know about you, but I look like the Michelin Tire Man whenever I go outside these days. It’s so freaking cold, even in Florida!! The antidote is a delicious pot of soup, and my favorite, Curried Red Lentil, is easy peasy.
